We are a diverse family on a unified mission to do our part to push back darkness in South Florida and beyond with the light of Jesus.
We are one church who gathers on Sunday and scatters throughout the city in community
Gather | Sundays
Scatter | GC's & DNA's
Just as Christians have been doing for 2,000+ years, Boca Glades gathers on Sundays as a family to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. We gather on Sundays to sing the Gospel in song, hear the Gospel in faithful preaching, remember the Gospel during the Lord’s supper, and respond to the Gospel in all of life worship. We also place a high premium on Sunday School that's offered between our gatherings. Our Sunday gatherings serve the broader mission of multiplying disciples and churches, equipping disciples of Jesus to scatter into Gospel Communities, and eventually multiply churches.
We scatter throughout the week in Gospel Communities (GC’s) and DNA Groups. GC’s and DNA’s are the primary place where we see discipleship happen. GC’s are groups of 8-14 people who live as family, servants, and missionaries learning to love one another and their neighbors in life-giving ways. These groups are small enough to care for each other, but large enough to dare and engage the culture around them. DNA groups (3-5 people) are extensions of GC’s where people engage in deeper discipleship, accountability, and Gospel transformation. As disciples multiply in Boca Glades, so will our GC’s and churches.
Our core Values
"The Gospel is not the ABC’s of Christianity, but the A-Z of Christianity."
In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul reminds the church that the good news of Jesus, the Gospel, is of first importance. Just as the Bible is centered on the person and work of Jesus (see Luke 24:27) we want our congregation to be centered on Christ. The Gospel is something believers grow deeper into and never graduate from. We want our spiritual identities to be shaped by what God has done for us in Christ and not in what we do for God.
“What we hunger for most, we worship.”
Contrary to popular trends in our culture, the heart of worship isn’t performance and experience. Worship is a response to the revelation of who God is. As God reveals himself in his Word, we respond by worshipping Him with our hearts, minds, bodies, and choices. As we behold God’s glory and his great attributes, 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, we are being transformed and further conformed to Christ’s likeness.
“Prayer must be our first response, not our last resort.”
We take seriously Christ’s words in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in Him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." We understand the source of our effectiveness for our mission and ministry isn’t our gifts and competencies. The kingdom of God will only move ahead in South Florida through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are trusting God to do what only He can do!
“Being a multi-ethnic & multi-generational church is not a new thing, it's a New Testament thing.”
By God’s grace, our church is generationally and ethnically diverse. This is something we celebrate and strive for based on texts like Psalm 145:8, “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts;” and the heavenly worship scene we see in Revelation 7, as people from every tribe, tongue, and nation are worshipping around the throne of the Lamb. We aspire for Boca Glades to be a picture of heaven on earth.
